I asked my friends on Facebook (I'm addicted) what my blog should be called. Here are the results:
* "What color is my hair this week" - as previously stated, my hair is currently brown, blue, and purple. And it really doesn't change that often because I don't have the money or time to keep on top of it. It has been blue and purple for almost 3 months now. I change it about twice a year or so.
* "19 animals and counting" - I can thank my sister the animal-hater for that one. She doesn't have any animals. She is just like my mom- they hate "dirty animals". I mean, they wouldn't kill them or anything, they just don't want them in their houses! When I was in high school, I had an Indonesian Garter snake that I kept in my closet (in an aquarium of course) to hide it from my mom. My sister's boyfriend told on me so I had to get rid of it.
I currently have 10 animals; 4 dogs, 3 cats, a ball python, bearded dragon, and a parakeet. Actually, the bearded dragon is Cole's and the python and the bird are Xander's so technically, I only have 7!
* "Who needs sleep, I have Diet Coke" - I work overnights at an emergency animal hospital, so I often have a sleep deficit. I also drink my weight in Diet Coke each day. I put away about 120-ish ounces in my 10 hours shift. More if I work extra. It's one of my problems that I'm working on: Less soda, more water!
* "No buns in the oven- just cakes!" - Some of my friends think that I have too many kids. Funny enough, the person who wrote this has 2 kids under that age of 4. I have 3 between 4 and 11. That's not that many! I do decorate cakes for fun and to occasionally sell. I got started with cake decorating about a year and a half ago when a friend (who sells cakes for a living) offered to sell me one for my son's birthday. I am cheap, so I made my own and got hooked! I took Wilton's cake decorating classes at my local Michael's store and I have learned so much! I love to do it, but with working overnights and having 3 kids, I am short on time. Maybe sometime I'll share some pics of my cakes with you.... not yet, though!

Taking the leap
I was encouraged by a very smart someone to start a blog as a way of "finding myself" again. Which brings me here.
My first problem about a blog is what to write about. I have solved that problem by deciding that I will write about whatever I friggin' want to! About anything from to my 3 boys, my plethera of animals, my cake decorating adventures, or my journey to re-invent myself. Not really "reinvent"... b/c I am already invented, obviously. I just want to find the old happy me in there amongst the very busy mom stuff and not so happy wife stuff.
Back in my hay day (did I really just write that?!) I was a crazy, unique girl that took lots of crap from those she loved, but none from those she didn't. Makes sense, right? Yeah, it doesn't to me either, yet I still continue to do it. I'm getting my crazy-uniqueness back, though. Wearing funky clothes that might be too young for me, dying my hair blue and purple, and maintaining my piercings is the easy part. Sure, I had to answer to my mom, my boss, and to the other moms at the boys' schools, but I totally feel better about myself! Now I just have to work on the not-taking-crap-from-loved-ones part, so bear with me.
My second problem was the fear of people reading what I write. I solved that one by planning to NOT telling people that I know IRL about the blog. Including my husband.
My third problem is... when will I write? And will I remember to write? I guess we will have to see how that works out!
